A lack of liquidity dominated the UK Energy Markets again this week with what activity there was focusing in on the Winter 10 seasonal contract. In thin volume the power curve slid down across the week and the anticipation is there will be further losses next week helped by cooler temperatures and a comfortable system. Gas and coal prices have also softened this week which will again support bearish sentiment going forward. Winter 10 closed the week at £45.40 MWh, Summer 11 £42.90 MWh and Winter 11 £47.75 MWh.
