Mild weather, ample supply margins and lower prices in France….all help to firm UK Prompt Prices?? It seems that demand was the driving cause with buyers looking to cover positions rather than finish in the Balancing Mechanism. DA Baseload finished the day at £69.30MWh, up on its opening level of £67.15MWh. Contracts also strengthened further out, mirroring movements in the oil market. Winter 09 Baseload closed at £73.90MWh and Winter 10 traded at £71.00MWh.
