Bulls scare away any bearish thoughts

08 January 2008

Markets rise on the back of predicted weather conditions which are forecast to be colder at the end of the month.

Gas prices rose today and yesterday on the back of coal price rises and predicted weather conditions. In the prompt players feel that levels could easily go much higher on the back of a supply squeeze, if this is triggered then the curve will rise and the longs will sell into this strength. It is a simple gamble and only tempered by a possible fall in oil which could see players sell on the back of oil prices. The market is starting to feel like it has few sellers and this is exactly the time that some of the funds might suddenly start selling.
