Teeside sold to Suez and GdF.
Teeside bought for over €400m by Suez and GDF, in ajoint venture. Teeside has had a chequered history owned by Enron and buying gas from BG, BP and Amerada Hess on exorbitant long term gas contracts it has always struggled to make money. Some of the long term power contracts associated with the plant were mills round the power players necks but manageable. This deal effectively gives Teeside a new lease of life as the gas contracts end in Sept 08
