Centrica try to muscle in on bid

06 August 2008

Centrica are trying to muscle in on the EdF BE deal, and this may make things politically sweeter.

EdF have had their £12bn bid for British Energy rejected by the shareholders, a couple of major institutions stated that the bid was not high enough. Centrica have now attempted to resurrect a deal which allows them the opportunity to buy directly from the newly merged company. They would also own a small percantage of the company therefore benefiting from any new build projects.
