Ofgem  Calls for RO to be abolished

RO could be banned but government must rule on consultation.

Ofgem have called for the renewable obligation to be abolished. They believe that there are better mechanisms for achieveing a growth in renewable generation. They feel that the consumer over pays for little in return.

Powerisk would not disagree with them, when the scheme was introduced many power companies campaigned that RO would not fulfill the government ambition and a real market would.
