Oil prices continue to fluctuate on the back of recent Opec annoucements.
Oil prices fell marginally on the back of traders digesting recent Opec announcements. Opec through a mixture of quotas and cuts and shuffling have in effect agreed to increase oil production. They have been over producing throughout most of September so the question on most players minds are does this announcement legitimise the over production or does it mean that new production will ensue.
What is clear is that the price is resolutely staying above $80.

The downward trend comes to an end
The Power market was finally knocked of its downward slide on 19th July with oil and gas prices helping to break the trend. Oil received a boost from lower than expected stock levels (again) and hopes that a US debt deal could be reached. While a Eurozone Emergency Summit was held to rescue the Euro and throw a further lifeline to Greece. read more...
