Next week looks tight on the margin

16 November 2007

French demand likely to be met by a tight UK plant margin.

Power margins in the UK are forecast to be tight, next week. National Grid are predicting 1.4GW on Tuesday which will be their lowest margin for the week. The remainder of the week is likely to be below 2GW. The French troubles are not helping as the spread between UK and continental power prices has widened to reflect the possibility of French demand.
