Traders through thin volume start to look at Carbon

03 December 2007

Bali conference bound to produce some interesting snippets, but more likely to "guilt" the non-particpants into action.

As many players have stopped for the year they have turned their attentions on what is likely to happen in Bali. Bali today is hosting the next carbon conference(i.e. Kyoto mark 3!) It is likely that as Australia have just ratified Kyoto the pressure on those no ratified parties will intesify. Most players are looking at bringing in new industries but also trying to make those who are not doing enough start to look up and pay attention.

Current EUA prices also seem vastly at odds to the proposed CRC price. British business is lobbying hard for a level and competitive playing field.  read more...
