CATS pipeline to return long before Winter sets in and this winter looks to be amply supplied.
BP have annouced that they expect to see the CATS pipeline which has been on an unscheduled outage to return to full service in mid September. The market responded with a bit of a sell off in the prompt, but the curve did not react as it was already priced in.
The good news is that this pipeline means that flows into the UK are set to be larger than they have been for several years with growth coming from Langeled and with storage likely to be full going into Winter.
Price rises are expected as one can never predict how cold the Winter will get but it is fair to assume that there is ample supply within the system to stop any unreasonable price movements.
