EdFT and Scottish Power wrapped over the knuckles

24 April 2007

EDFT and SP dancing with OFGEM who will soon stamp on their toes and insist upon a 10% fine of their revenues.

Ofgem yesterday named and shamed SP and EDFT as not reducing their prices along with wholesale prices. Interestingly others Npower, EON, and SSE have all reduced their price, but competition can't have hit that much as SP and EDFT have been slow to change prices. Many customers will have seen the price decreases and assumed that these will eventually passed onto them. These assumptions can be a little dangerous. So SP and EDFT have been piggy backing on the back of this goodwill. A dangerous game for them as Ofgem can fine them as much as 10% of the overall revenues.
