Over 300 News Items on Powerisk

24 March 2006

Powerisk has concentrated on a range of utility articles in the last two years and there are now over 300 articles showing how the market has moved and what the fundamental drivers are, sometimes this has been before the market has moved and this gives players a brief glimpse into the future.

There are over 300 news items on the Powerisk website. These have looked at the fundamentals including the influences of emissions, competition, Europe. There have been explanations of spark and dark spreads. There has been commentary of the way a particular product has performed. How to spot value in the curve, the relationship between peaks and baseload, and the why a market moves.

We have stated when things look over cooked, we have shown how trades extract value with time spreads. We have talked options, and risk management we would love to know areas where you would like more detail and where you think the news items help you make your purchasing decisions; please email your thoughts to this link.

We will be looking in more detail at Value at risk and the way that this can start to assess the need to trade if you are too exposed in the market. This is a great risk management tool, and many players on flexible contracts are looking for advice not necessarily to know when to trade but when it is risky.
