Winter 05 off 75p

04 May 2005

Winters converge with front curve taking a battering.

Winter 05 dropped 75p to £45.00 on bearish oil moves. Winter 06 dropped 10p to £43.25 and as predicted by Powerisk the spread on the two Winters has now narrowed, to £1.75. There is no doubt that a market that has seen the price rises the UK power market has seen in the last couple of months is due a bit of sell off, but the likelihood is that this will not last forever.

In any event, whether peak oil (the point at which growth in supply is less than the growth in demand) occurred this week, last month or last year, the point is we have, or are about to, reach a turning point and something ought to be done.  read more...
