Oil up, Power up, Winter up, Gas up Prompt down.
Winter closed at £41.50/MWh and Summer 05 closed at £26.65/MWh whilst prompt prices, closed down to a reasonable £24.85/MWh. Power prices in the prompt seem to reacting to weather conditions whilst oil prices, have increased inexorably due to fears of an oil fire in a BP oil refinery in Texas.

The downward trend comes to an end
The Power market was finally knocked of its downward slide on 19th July with oil and gas prices helping to break the trend. Oil received a boost from lower than expected stock levels (again) and hopes that a US debt deal could be reached. While a Eurozone Emergency Summit was held to rescue the Euro and throw a further lifeline to Greece. read more...
