E On buy Economy Power

30 March 2005

Welsh Grand Slam continues for Economy Power.

E.On have bought Economy Power the small welsh supply business. They have bought 700,000 customers for a rumoured £40m. At £57 a customer this is a good deal for both parties, it will be a significant boost to E.ONs SME business, and for Economy Power with increasingly complex deals being required and a need for new systems to further grow the business, the timing could not have been better. EP looked at a float but their bankers encouraged them to go for an outright sell.
