Q3 and Q4 05 bashed

02 June 2005

Bears return as fundamental support is kicked away.

Q3 05 traded down £1 to £32.10MWh this drop did nothing to change the September power prices anomaly almost certainly caused by spark spread traders arbing out planned gas outages in August and September. It is now clear that Winter 05 is being seen as a prompt trading opportunity reacting to any news it can, but there is little to keep it at these levels and it lost 40p in the day. Emissions have dropped and gas dropped and as traders have suggested recent rises on the back of anything not surprisingly the bears are beginning to return and this time prices could start to get hit.
