All markets behave in similar ways, but the recent rise in German and French prices may well feed into the UK in due course.
France and Germany Power markets traded up to record highs on the back of low temperatures forecast for the end of December. It also drew out the shorts for January who realised that it was getting a little heated in the market. Whilst UK and German and French markets are not that correlated they have become more closely linked with emissions coming into the market, and this effect will influence the Uk market. The UK market has recently hit record highs on the back of gas rises, but there is no doubt that the market will be effected by these stories. The key is that the squeeze on UK gas seen in the last two weeks, is likely to occur (probably to a lesser extent) in Europe, with the UK being at the end of the physical pipeline, this could have dramatic effects.
Expect this to act at the very least as a cap to the recent bearish push.

The Carbon Floor Price has relevance to the CRC, not least because some commentators have suggested that the fixed price levels could track the known Carbon Floor Price.
