Oil prices return to the bullring

10 April 2005

Winter 05 and Summer 06 up on oil fears, and an increase in buying activity.

Oil prices were blamed for encouraging bulls back into the market, and pushing Winter 05 up to a closing level of £43.30/MWh. This move effectively wiped out any losses from yesterday. Also the fears of tight supply margins have been spreading to Summer 06 which has risen to trade at £33.30, looking at where the remainder of Summer 05 is trading this is a £2 premia to buying forward.
