Energy watch have issued a "super-complaint" to all energy suppliers, with the way they handle billing. Over 60% of energywatches complaints directly relate to bills. There is no doubt, that customer switching causes problems for suppliers, as they have to de-list and re-list customers, often with bad debt. The cost of the bad debt can be crippling and was part of the cause of the collapse of both Independent Energy and Atlantic. So customers are not entirely blameless. However, those customers who have genuine gripes only have Energy watch to go too, as the complaints procedures in most supply companies are not adequate and mean customers get passed from one call centre to another.
